At dinner tonight the girls asked me why we don't pray in restaurants. I explained that since restaurants are noisy places with lots of people it's sometimes easier just to say a prayer in your heart.

Ella said, "I just pray in the bathroom."

"You do?" I asked her, surprised. "Really? When?"

"I do it every time at Lily's house. Right before we sit down I say I have to go to the bathroom and I bless the food in there. Works every time."

"Wow." While I thought about what to say, Ella continued.

"The bathroom isn't the most reverent place, but it is a place where you can have your privacy."
